It looks like a great movie. I'm definitely going to see it when it is released.

It doesn’t look like there’s going to be a bad review for this film. There’s been some negative press that the Sony Pictures promotion of the film is misleading by posting only pictures of Elio with an actress that plays his supposed girlfriend. That has prompted a lot of negative Twitter comments - and although it was twelve years ago - the same thing was done in marketing Brokeback Mountain. I do like the comparison (and not in a negative way - it’s simply a fact) to Brokeback, Moonlight, and Carol. I sure hope the film gets a lot of love from the awards. Timothée Chalamet has already received a film critics award for best breakthrough performance.

I can't wait to see the film, and I think it will do well. This article did catch my eye though - apparently some social media person in the UK either intentionally or unintentionally sent a tweet implying the film had a straight romance. Teen Vogue (in all its awesomeness) covered it. www.teenvogue.com/story/call-me-by-your-name-sony-tweet

I read that James Ivory wrote the script, which is encouraging. He's class all the way. Looking forward to it.

I'm frustrated that the roll out is so slow. It won't be where I am until January.

The movie opened this weekend in limited release on only 4 screens. It made a little over 400,000. Meaning it's per screen average was over 100,000 per screen.
By comparison the #1 movie was Coco which opened on over 3900 screens with an average of 12,000 dollars per screen.
