Possibly. I guess we'll see if they ever get back around to that s/l. When Sonny was stabbed, we got to see Will gradually become the person he was before everything went downhill. He recommitted himself to Sonny, in his mind put the ONS behind him and we saw plenty of evidence of his devotion to Sonny. But the show doesn't always give the Sonny the same care as Will, even though having him finally drive the story was really great. I want to see Sonny get his business acumen back, figure out what Chad did to him and be seen being good at what he does again. I think the character is owed that. If he discovers his beloved Uncle Vic's mob war led to his stabbing, all the better. I want him to see the consequences of being close to Victor, especially since we've seen him go to Victor for help in the last year - by getting Will a job and then there was the business about "If you ever need someone killed, you come to me". This an excellent analysis, honeybees. You always make good points. It would be really great if Sonny figures out what Clyde did and handless it. I want him or Will to want to find out what happened. I don't want it to be another unsolved Salem crime.

I'm not sure how popular this is...but I wouldn't mind it if Sonny ended up being groomed as the 'heir apparent' to the shadier sides of Victor's business.

He seriously considered killing Nick to the point of getting a gun from Victor's house. He also destroyed the video that would implicate Sami in a shooting. I might be able to see him embracing a dark side in the aftermath of him being hurt by Will, but I don't think they are going in that direction. I can't see him acting in a criminal way just for profit. I see him more as a protector, who will embrace his dark side to protect Will or Arianna.

I don't think destroying the video is qualifies as having a dark side. Even the cops in Salem destroy evidence to protect loved ones. And I don't think Sonny would've killed Nick. I think he was angry enough to get the gun, but he wouldn't have pulled the trigger. He can be a hothead, but he's very moral person. And I agree, he will never do any criminal activity for profit.

I think Dark! For Sonny means anything that doesn't make him a boy scout. Even though he's done things that are illegal a few times, he always seems to have good intentions and to be ethical. There's an incorrect perception sometimes that he's a goody-two shoes, which is not really right, but he does have a strong moral compass.

Sonny does keep his darker/bad impulses in check. I think he was very tempted by Paul, especially when Will was in LA and Sonny was struggling with the club, but ultimately, Sonny chose to stay faithful. He wanted to kill Nick, but he didn't.

Okay, so maybe not dark!Sonny but I'd love a slightly grey!Sonny. Which I've think we've seen....Destroying the video of sami and Bernardi, keeping quiet for the coven when he thought they murdered Nick, breaking into Nick's room at the mansion to steal the usb drive that had Will's confession, going so far as to steal Victor's gun. There are signs that he can be shady, but I agree he does have a moral compass but then doesn't Victor in a way?
*sigh* I wish we'd been able to see Sonny and Sami 'knock over' that liquor store together. Sami dreaming it would have been awesome!

I would love a dream sequence with a fully dark Sonny. Too bad they won't do a mirror universe episode.
I think Sonny is often misunderstood. He's a good person, and he has a strong moral compass but he's always been shown to be willing to break rules if he thinks it's the right thing to do. It's the same way people misunderstand Clyde as a "hick" when he's someone who plays up his country traits so people will assume he's a hick. Because Sonny is one of the most consistently good characters, people are surprised when he seems willing to break the rules. Even when he was going to shoot Nick, he was going to do it to protect, Arianna, Will and Gabi and in his mind that was noble.

My favourite Star Trek series was 'Enterprise'...they did a two episode arc called 'through the mirror darkly' and it was basically an alt.verse of the the enterprise characters. It was so cool to see Trip (my fave) be nasty and bad assed!
I think it would be so cool if we got darkverse Sonny, Will and Paul. Okay, that might be a little to sci-fi for pretty much everyone here but how I would have loved it if Sonny had dreamed something like this while he was sedated after the stabbing.

Oh, the mirror episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise are my absolute favorites. And Days has gone through its SciFi periods, too! The great thing about the MU episodes of Enterprise is the characters were mirrors - not just "evil" versions of the RU counterparts. So, in that vein, Sonny, Will and Paul would be themselves, only having grown up in a dark, fascist world. I can see Sonny being a ruthless terrorist trying to make the world better, Will working for state and having no tolerance for rebellion and Paul in some sort of gladiator situation.

Huge Trek fan here! Trip was my favorite on Enterprise as well, Sunnyways.
Someone needs to write that MU Days Fanfic.

I think we do need a fanfic using the characters Honeybees suggested: Sonny being a ruthless terrorist trying to make the world better, Will working for state and having no tolerance for rebellion and Paul in some sort of gladiator situation.

Okay, so we had the board meeting....Stefano's in Kate is out and so is Chad....how exactly is Stefano going to run the conglomerate? Using Chad as his proxy? And what does this mean for Kate? I totally think she would have Lucas demoted if Victor said she could have her old job back.

I don't think Victor will bring Kate back. I think he's livid that she's dating Clyde and he won't soon forget that. I do wonder if Kate learns that Clyde had Sonny stabbed, she'll rethink her relationship with Clyde. I mean, she married Stefano, but this is Sonny we're talking about.

I agree Kate will not be happy to find out Clyde stabbed Sonny. In fact, I'd love it if she did discover it. If we ever got the 'who killed Clyde' murder mystery, Kate in the suspect pool would be awesome....of course if I could write that sl then I'd have Ben kill Clyde because Sonny was so good to him and no one would guess it was him.
